"I'm of course happy about this development: from the first experimental residential building to the worldwide projects and quarters in the passive house standard," explains passive house pioneer Prof. Wolfgang Feist. However, he makes it clear: "Without a significantly higher level of commitment from governments, progress will only be slow in improving the energetic design of buildings." With the passive house standard and the world's first passive house, the physicist has a practicable and scientifically proven solution for high energy efficiency demonstrated in the building area.
Passive House Award
30 years after the construction of the first pilot project, daycare centers, schools, gyms, supermarkets, indoor swimming pools, museums, hotels and quarters in the passive house standard are a matter of course. They are an important building block for effective climate protection and for social justice. The high level of living comfort is a big plus.
Around Passive House Award 2021 Over 80 projects from 19 countries apply. The award ceremony, which pays special attention to buildings with regenerative energy, will take place during the 25th International Passive House Conference shown in the live stream. “Passive House - The Key to Sustainable Building” will take place from September 10th to 15th, 2021 in Wuppertal and online. A total of 16 lecture series deal with energy-efficient building and renovation, including summer comfort, ecological building materials and worldwide passive house projects. www.passivhaustagung.de
