The new cruise ship “Aida Cosma” left the construction dock of Meyer Werft in Papenburg on Saturday and presented itself to the public for the first time. "The maneuver went well," said a shipyard spokesman on Saturday. The 337 meter long cruise ship then moored at the equipment pier in the shipyard harbor. According to the spokesman, the masts and chimney will now be lifted onto the ship by crane and installed. In addition, the interior of the ship is to be completed here.
According to the shipyard, the “Aida Cosma” is operated with environmentally friendly liquefied natural gas (LNG) just like the sister ship “Aida Nova”. At the end of the year, the ship is to be transferred across the Ems and set course for the Canary Islands.
