  • This is an outrageous approach that even the German trade unionists cannot put up with. Apparently the MAN board in Munich ran out of arguments. I expect this measure to be withdrawn immediately

Linz (OTS) - The fact that Erich Schwarz, the previous workers' works council of MAN in Steyr and former AK vice-president, has not been allowed to enter the factory premises since his retirement on April 7, is for AK President and ÖGB state chairman Dr. Johann Kalliauer a scandal.

"This is an outrageous approach that even the German trade unionists cannot put up with. Apparently the MAN board in Munich ran out of arguments. I expect this measure to be withdrawn immediately“, Demands Kalliauer. Erich Schwarz has given the best for the MAN Group for decades. To punish him now in the pension with such a sanction, just because he stood behind the workforce, is unbelievable.

That is the second case in a short time. Only two weeks ago, Harald Dietinger, the AK vice-president and state secretary of the construction / wood union, was denied access to the Optimo company and the works council was banned from entering. Kalliauer: "Something like that must never become normal. We will do our utmost to defend ourselves against such measures."
