MOSCOW, April XNUMX / PRNewswire / - Gazprom, the official partner of the European Championship, has come up with a completely new award for the best goal in Euro 2020 - a trophy in NFT format. The trophy is the first digital award in the history of world football that combines physical perception and digital technologies.
The physical prototype of the NFT soccer trophy was an art installation by well-known Russian calligraphic futurist Pokras Lampas. On the eve of the UEFA EURO 2020 final, on the night of 10-11 July, the footballs that make up the art installation will appear on the streets of the eleven EURO host cities. The footballs will find their future owners near tourist attractions, popular leisure spots and sports venues in Amsterdam, Baku, Budapest, Bucharest, Glasgow, Copenhagen, London, Munich, Rome, St. Petersburg and Seville.
On June 27, the art installation consisting of 432 footballs at the Gazprom stand in the football village of St. Petersburg was dismantled into individual footballs, each as unique as a modern work of art. In addition, the physical installation in the format in which it was created and existed at the Gazprom booth in St. Petersburg will never be repeated, and it will only remain in the form of an NFT token that is sent along with one of the balls to the Author of the championship's best goal.
“Our project demonstrates the multidisciplinary approach of today's artist. Starting with a public art installation based on personally labeled elements, the project will be converted into a technological digital token, while at the same time the audience will be informed about the work through content on social media. Then it comes back on the road, now in the form of the component artifacts - the same soccer balls that started it all! At the same time, the possibility that part of the art object suddenly comes into your possession and you can decide for yourself what to do next with it makes the viewer a full-fledged actor in the project and connects digital reality even more closely with the material basis of the work. Until we meet on the streets of St. Petersburg, Rome, London and other European capitals! ”Pokras Lampas.
Anyone who wants to can become the owner of one of the soccer balls.
