Vienna (OTS) - The international law firm Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer is appointing Dr. Maria Dreher and Dr. Ludwig Hartenau became global partners for the first time in one year with two lawyers from the Vienna office. This increases the number of partners in Austria to 1 lawyers. Dr. From now on, Maria Dreher (2021) will take over the management of the Vienna antitrust practice as partner, with two branches in Vienna and Brussels. Profile Dr. Maria Dreher
Maria Dreher has been with Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer since 2010 and advises on all aspects of antitrust law in a variety of sectors, including manufacturing, pharmaceuticals and financial institutions. Her advisory focus ranges from European and Austrian merger control law, state aid law and proceedings before the European courts to advice on compliance with antitrust law. Maria Dreher also represents clients before the national and European competition authorities in connection with market power abuse and antitrust proceedings, with a focus on settlement negotiations. In addition, she has extensive experience in supporting clients from various economic sectors with house searches and compliance audits, both in the context of internal company and regulatory investigations.

Ludwig Hartenau has been with Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer since 2006 and advises on a broad spectrum of corporate law with a focus on M&A transactions, public takeovers and the reorganization of corporate structures, including joint ventures, especially in the automotive and tech sectors. Ludwig Hartenau has extensive experience with cross-border and highly complex transactions, often in the capital market environment, and corporate governance structures. Ludwig Hartenau also advises clients on digital transformation projects and the business opportunities arising from the monetization of data. In addition to the automotive and tech sectors, his clients include companies from industry and the financial sector.
