Eurochambres President Leitl: Focus on digital skills, education and qualifications in European reconstruction

Working discussion with EU Research Commissioner Gabriel - EWN President Schultz agrees to support the European network of women entrepreneurs

Vienna (OTS) - The additional opportunities for training and further education in the EU education program Erasmus + and the role of SMEs in European research funding were the focus of a virtual working meeting between the European Chamber of Commerce Eurochambres and Mariya Gabriel, EU Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth.

“European reconstruction stands and falls with the skills and abilities of the young generation. Education and qualifications are the key to a quick comeback from the deep economic crisis in which we are in Europe. From the point of view of the European economy, the resources of the Eramus program should therefore focus on digital skills, education and qualifications, ”Eurochambres President Christoph Leitl emphasized to EU Commissioner Gabriel.

The Vice-President of the Austrian Economic Chamber and Chairwoman of the EUROCHAMBRES Women Network, Martha Schultz, promised Commissioner Gabriel the support of the European Network of Women Entrepreneurs: “The European Commission lacks direct contact with women entrepreneurs, and we at the Eurochambres Women Network are happy to support this. We encourage the European Commission to promote initiatives such as Women in Tech or increasing the quota of women in start-ups. "(PWK181 / SR)
