Hamburg's DGB chairman Katja Karger has welcomed the corona test obligation for companies decided by the federal government. "This is an absolutely necessary step," she said on Wednesday. Although many companies in Hamburg are already testing voluntarily, this does not apply to all. Studies have shown that up to 40 percent of employees in Germany would have to work without tests. "Here the risk is passed on to the employees unilaterally," said Karger. "However, health protection for employees is a duty of employers that everyone must adhere to."
She asked Mayor Peter Tschentscher (SPD) to remember this when he was scheduled to attend the Chamber of Commerce plenary session on Wednesday afternoon.
