"At EDEKA, fruit and vegetables stand for regional cultivation and first-hand quality. Our merchants convince with a mix of diverse, fresh and regional products - at the best price-performance ratio. "
EDEKA stores traditionally differentiate themselves through a high proportion of regional and local products. The proportion of organic fruit and vegetables continues to rise - including more and more products that are produced in accordance with the standards of organic farming associations such as Demeter. For a long time, EDEKA merchants have also been offering many fresh products unpacked and encouraging their customers to use reusable bags when shopping for fruit and vegetables. With the innovative Apeel process, EDEKA is once again contributing to the fight against food waste: The edible Apeel protective cover made from plants gives fruit and vegetables a second skin and doubles the shelf life of fresh products. So far, avocados, oranges, mandarins, lemons and grapefruits already bear the Apeel logo.
