Led by Sequoia and Lachy Groom, the funding will be used to accelerate customer adoption around the world

Blues Wireless, a leading provider of embedded cellular solutions, today announced Series A funding of $ 22 million; the funding will be led by Sequoia Capital and Lachy Groom, along with XYZ Venture Capital and returning investor Bill Gates. The new funds will be used to expand global marketing, sales and operations, and will support further investments in research and development for hardware and related services for integrating data into cloud applications.

Blues Wireless announced the general availability of its flagship product Notecard known at the end of 2020. Notecard is the easiest, most affordable way to add LTE and 5G cellular connectivity to almost any product or service.

"We offer a simple, affordable solution to a complex and costly problem: We help companies connect their products to the cloud securely and with minimal effort," said Ray Ozzie, founder and CEO of Blues Wireless. “Since we launched Notecard, we have received great feedback and great demand. Together with our world-class team and investors, this funding will help accelerate our progress in connecting billions of our customers' remote devices to the cloud. "

Whether for asset tracking, remote control or performance analysis - almost every company today has to connect its product or service to the cloud in order to offer a better customer experience, develop sales opportunities or operate its business more efficiently. However, developing, deploying, and securely operating products with cellular connectivity is a resource-intensive, costly, and complex task that most companies cannot handle on their own. Blues Wireless is focused on this challenge and provides affordable, ready-to-use solutions that make it easy to connect virtually all devices and products to the cloud - anywhere in the world.

“Despite the advent of IoT, most machines and devices are still disconnected due to the complexity of building and shipping. Blues Wireless solves these problems by offering a simple method of building a cellular connection into any device, ”said Mike Vernal, partner at Sequoia. "We have firmly believed in Ray's vision for IoT on a large scale right from the start and look forward to driving the company's growth further."

Blues Wireless had already closed a financing round of USD 2020 million in March 11.
