The construction of residential buildings in North Rhine-Westphalia has increased by 2,3 percent within a year. This was determined by the State Statistical Office when comparing the costs in February 2021 with those twelve months earlier. Compared to the previous study from November 2020, there was a price increase of 3,7 percent, the statisticians announced on Wednesday. The reason is the meanwhile increased value-added tax to the old rate of 19 percent. If the lower tax rate had been retained, the increase would have been mathematically 1,1 percent.
